Data and accuracy
Maps, counts and summaries are compiled from the public sources named on the methodology page, each with the date it was taken. They can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and some facts are extracted by machine from scanned documents without human review. A spacing-unit footprint is not a legal description, overlapping units are not additive, and a count of laterals that could fit is not a plan or a prediction. Where the site and an official record disagree, the official record governs.

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Bakken Subsurface Analytics and Caleb Albertson are not liable for any loss arising from the use of the site or of anything on it.

Operator and well names identify records as the state reports them. Naming an operator implies no endorsement, criticism or relationship. Trademarks belong to their owners. Public records belong to the agencies that publish them.
