Bakken Subsurface Analytics counts page views to see which parts of the site people use. Reports show daily totals by section, such as the viewer and tours.
How visits are counted
This browser saves the date it was last counted. On the first visit it contributes one new browser to the daily total. When it visits again on a later day it contributes one returning browser. Opening more pages that day contributes page views. Days follow UTC.
The counter sends only the page section and, once a day, whether the browser is new or returning. The date stays on your device. Clearing site data or switching browsers can make a returning visitor appear new.
Services this site uses
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles every request and stores the daily counts described above. The well index is hosted on GitHub Pages. The 3D page loads its 3D library from jsDelivr and its typefaces from Google Fonts. Where a page offers a YouTube video, it loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain only when you choose to play it. Each of these services receives your browser's IP address and request details under its own privacy policy. The site itself sets no cookies.
